When it comes to improving your life, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by everything you want to change - especially if we are wanting to live our Best Life, and feel we still have a way to go.

But the truth is, big transformations often come from small, consistent steps.  (How many times have your heard a celebrity say that their 'overnight success' was years of consistent work behind the scenes?)  Taking these tiny actions may not seem significant at first, but over time, they build momentum, and lead to remarkable results.  If you were to make small changes one week at a time, those changes will add up over a year.  (Starting my business was like this - it took one small action, done consistently, day after day after day, to build this business.)

Living your Best Life isn’t about perfection, or dramatic changes.  It’s about aligning your daily actions with your values and dreams.  There are a number of reasons why small, consistent steps can get you there.

Living your Best Life doesn’t mean making huge changes all at once.  In fact, small, consistent actions are often the most powerful.  When you focus on just one idea each week, you give yourself the chance to build new habits and create lasting change — without the overwhelm.  Some of our favorite ideas to help you live your Best Life, one step at a time, and outlined below.

1. Start a Morning Routine

Take just 10 minutes every morning to set the tone for your day.  Stretch, meditate, or write down three things you’re grateful for.  I love to sit outside for a few minutes, and just 'be'.  It’s a small act that can create a big ripple effect.

2. Declutter One Space

Pick one small area — your desk, a drawer, or your car — and declutter it.  You’ll feel lighter, and more focused, when your environment feels clear.  I'm in the process of scanning my paperwork - and focus on one folder (or subfolder, depending on how big it is) at a time.  

3. Walk Outside Daily

Spend 15 minutes walking outdoors each day.  Fresh air, sunlight, and a little movement can work wonders for your mood and energy.  I love to do this!

4. Try a Digital Detox

Choose one evening this week to turn off your phone, computer, and TV.  Use the time to read, journal, or connect with loved ones.  I love to go for walks in nature, where it's just me and the trees - and the birds, and the butterflies, and the flowers, and pretty leaves on the ground.  I find it so relaxing, and it always brings my mind back to the present moment, and re-connects me with the world around me - rather than focused on a screen.

5. Learn Something New

Take 15 minutes to explore a topic you’ve always been curious about.  Watch a tutorial, listen to a podcast, or start a new book. I love to listen to podcasts while I'm walking in nature - that way, you get exercise and fresh air, while you're listening to something interesting, and learning something new. 

Each of these ideas is simple, doable, and designed to help you feel more in control, fulfilled, and happy.  Imagine how different your life could look after 52 weeks of small but meaningful steps!

Trying to tackle everything at once often leads to burnout. (I know I have a tendency to do this - so I've learned to break it down, and do small bite-sized steps instead - and it feels so much better!  😊)  When you focus on one small action each week, you’re giving yourself the chance to succeed without stress.  These little wins add up, and can lead to big changes over time.
