How I (Finally!) Created a Tripwire That Feels Authentic and Aligned

I’ll be honest — for the longest time, I kept hearing people talk about tripwires in online business circles, and I’d smile and nod like I knew what they meant.  I had a rough idea… something about offering a low-cost product after someone signs up for your freebie?  But I didn’t really get it because I hadn’t really dug into it yet, or got into the technical side of how to actually do it.

Well, that just changed — because I’ve officially created my first tripwire! 🎉

And I have to say… I’m actually quite excited about it, now that I understand how it all works (and the theory behind it).

A tripwire is a simple way to start earning from your freebies - even as a beginner.

In simple terms, a tripwire is a small, low-priced offer (usually $7–$29) that people see right after they grab your freebie — like a free guide, quiz, or checklist.

Think of it as a friendly ‘next step’ for people who already like what you’re offering.  It’s not pushy — it’s just a natural, helpful offer that makes sense based on their interests.

The idea is that it helps turn your new subscribers into customers right away, while also giving them something valuable that can help them even more.

Pretty clever, right?

I’ve been building my business for a while, but I realised I didn’t have a simple way to start earning from all the people signing up for my free offers.  (And yes, I knew I needed to, I just hadn’t gotten around to it yet, as there seem to be a few different ways of earning money from freebies, and I hadn’t had time to do the research.)

💙 It feels good to offer real value.  You’re giving people something useful, not just ‘selling.’  That makes all the difference – I love that I’m helping people uplift their life.
